Carrie Vitt of Deliciously Organic on Military Mom Talk Radio with Sandra Beck and Robin Boyd

Listen now:

carrievittWhen she first started using organic, unprocessed ingredients, Carrie Vitt felt like a stranger in a strange land. She had a hard time finding recipes that were equivalent in flavor to what her family was accustomed to eating. Nevertheless, avoiding such ingredients as white sugar, white flour, and partially hydrogenated anything made baking especially challenging for her as well as the family she cooked for!

This challenge resulted in Carrie Vitt’s cookbooks, Deliciously Organic, and now her second book, The Grain-Free Family Table.  In this beautiful full-color cookbook (over 100 photographs!), Carrie include recipes for everything from basic staples to gourmet dishes the whole family will love. She also devoted an entire chapter to kid-friendly recipes like Squash Macaroni and Cheese, Chicken Nuggets, Grilled Cheese and Classic Birthday Cake with Buttercream Frosting.

Chapters on these topics make the book even more helpful:
My Path to Healing
Why Grain-Free Instead of Gluten-Free?
Grains to Avoid
My Pantry and Fridge
How to eat out
How to adapt recipes (using the cookbooks you already have!)
How to Encourage Your Kids to Eat Grain-Free

Most importantly, throughout the entire book gives advice on how to use nutrient-dense, grain-free food to help reduce inflammation and overcome disease.
